What do you do with your freshly washed clothes if you don’t have a dryer? Hanging outside to dry is not always an option due to the changeable weather. Many people (including ourselves) often use a drying rack indoors to dry our clothes. Unfortunately this is not a good idea. By drying your clothes indoors, you ensure that at least two liters of extra moisture remain in a room.

We will certainly try to stop drying our clothes in the house.

Bad for your health
If you let your clothes dry indoors, all the extra moisture will make your home a breeding ground for mold. Research has also shown that there is a 25% increase in dust mites in households that dry their laundry indoors. This can lead to a reduced natural defense against lung problems.

Dry outside
It’s best to let your clothes dry outside if you have the option. It is not only better for your health, but also for your clothes and the wind ensures that they become less wrinkle-free. Is it raining cats and dogs outside? Perhaps it is possible to let the load dry under an awning. If this isn’t an option for you and you choose to dry your clothes indoors, make sure the room is heated and well ventilated.
