This way you will get rid of that sore throat as quickly as possible

Almost every autumn or winter you are overcome by it: a terrible sore throat. Whether it actually makes you sick or not, it’s terribly annoying. Tea and honey are popular remedies that you are probably familiar with. But did you know that there are also other food-related remedies that help with a sore throat? We have made a list for you so that you can try something yourself.

Every food has its properties.

1. Broth

Like a steaming cup of tea, a nice hot bowl of broth can do wonders for a sore throat. Your nose will be less blocked by the steam from the broth. In addition, broth forms an excellent basis for an antibacterial soup. Add some fresh vegetables, garlic, turmeric and ginger and presto! An anti-inflammatory soup is born.

2. Fruit popsicles

An ice-cold popsicle cools your throat and immediately soothes your pain. But don’t grab a box of pear-flavored popsicles! These ice creams contain a lot of sugar, which irritates your throat even more. Grab your blender and throw in different fruits, fresh spinach, and grated ginger. Pour this mixture into popsicle molds and place in the freezer for a few hours. Your throat will thank you.

3. Garlic

Garlic contains the substance allicin. This substance has anti-inflammatory properties and kills the bacteria that cause your sore throat. Aside from that, garlic can also help you get rid of a cold. How do you eat it? Finely chop a garlic glove and add it to your broth.

4. Smoothies

Like a popsicle, cold smoothies do a lot of good things for your throat. Do you have a nasty flu? Then you probably don’t feel like eating. However, it is very important to get enough vitamins and minerals in your system to get better as quickly as possible. A few ingredients are indispensable in your smoothie if you want to fight a sore throat. Have a large amount of frozen or fresh fruit, oatmeal, fresh ginger, a pinch of turmeric, water or vegetable milk, and ice cubes. Mix them all together and you have a tasty smoothie that will make you feel better.
